I've fallen off the low-carb wagon a bit this week.

I was feeling a little bit disenchanted with Atkins this time round as the weight isn't dropping off like it did last time, so I've had quite a few carb 'sins' this week:

Sunday: I got talked into Kentucy fried chicken. I had about 5 pieces! (((Sigh!!!)))

Thursday: Pasta salad (and I finished up my children's unfinished plates too, so that probably counts for 60 g of carbs!)

Friday: I had 2 little roast potatoes with my dinner. Also I forgot to use soya milk in my tea because I made a pot for visitors.

Tomorrow (oh, well actually later today) we're going to visit my m-i-l, so maybe I'll have to re-start properly on Sunday again.

Hi Kira,

That's the beauty of these diets that you can always start over! Sometimes we need to cheat a little. I think it's hard becasue Atkins is very restrictive so when you are cutting out entire food groups - makes it difficult to sustain that outside of the house or when you have a family or visitors who don't follow the same diet. Still the results of Atkins when followed are very good.

The best thing to do is plan ahead for these situations. I try to make carbs for my kids that are not my favourites. If I go out, I make sure to ask for extra steamed vegetables instead of potatoes. My sister tells the waitstaff that she's alergic to butter.

Hope you have a nice weekend!

Nicole
