Last Saturday I took my daughter to New York to meet up with some friends in Tarrytown. We started our journey at 8:45am and caught the 9:44am train to Penn Station. When we reached, we were both starved so my daughter suggested we get soft pretzels from Auntie Anne's. I gave her the "that's way too fattening" glare, and she said, "The original pretzel is only 340 calories". New York has implemented a law stating

I am seriously considering buying some skinny mirrors for my house! At least one, in the bathroom, so I can start off the day feeling extra good, not extra chubby! Seems like every day I'm starting over, but I guess that's not so bad... at least I can start fresh and try again. I'm definitely feeling better. The allergies are almost completely gone and my energy levels seem to be on the rise. I'm not sure if that

Oops, I forgot to pack my lunch! Well, I didn't actually forget to pack my lunch, I was rushing out the door so I could get an early start at work and figured I would venture out and find some lunch.
There's a Trader Joe's which is very close to my office and sometimes I stop in the

I'm wondering if some people might be reluctant to join a diet website or become a fan of one because it's some sort of admission that they're overweight? The fact of the matter is that we are all on a diet. webdietsuccess.com is not just about that latest fad diets, it's more about healthy eating and exercise.
There are some great workout videos here as well. My personal favourite is the dumbell workout. I will add some additional videos this week, as I will be the workout que

Seemingly, every year I make a long list of New Year's resolutions, and then I don't keep them, or I sort of taper off as soon as the initial enthusiasm wears off. This year, I decided to keep it simple. The best place to start off is with an exercise program. I really enjoy the P90x workout program, and have seen the most dramatic results from P90x than with any other workout that I have tried. It does, however, take a big commitment, in terms of time and energy! Of course, if it didn't, then I…

This quick Spanish-inspired saute is a lesson in simplicity. All shrimp really needs to dazzle is lots of garlic and a splash of lemon. Serve as a main dish over linguine or as a tapas (appetizer).

INGREDIENTS
MARINADE & SHRIMP
3 tablespoons lemon juice
3 tablespoons dry white wine
2 teaspoons extra-virgin olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 pound mediu…

I have discovered a recipe that is worth killing pigs for, the P90x Island Pork Tenderloin Recipe.
If you cut out the dressing you can lower the fat content from 13g to a little more than 6 grams.
You can also serve the Pork Tenderloin with rice as a different option. Whatever you do, don't cut out the brown sugar, it is what makes this dish out of this…

Time flies when you're having fun! Well, here I am again, feeling a little bad that I haven't blogged in a while. Hail Mary a thousand times! I have definitely made some inroads into my diet in the past couple of weeks, but now I need to get the exercise ball rolling! How do you keep up the energy and motivation going when you are eating sticks?? Ok, celery sticks... My strategy is to keep up the healthy eating habits and start exercising so that I have the power to resist temptation during the…

I'll admit it; I'm terrible when it comes to caring for my skin. Sure I wash it daily and I've always been good at limiting the amount of makeup I put on, but I've never been able to go the extra mile. Exfoliation is like a foreign word to me. Naturally, I've tried it several times and even seen reasonable results, but I've never been able to make it a regular habit.
Recently, I made the decision to take better care of my skin. Having said similar things to myself before, I knew I would have to…

With the summer approaching, holidays are being booked and beachwear is being dragged out of wardrobes and ordered for a new season of sunshine.
However, for every perfectly golden tan there is someone hiding inside until their lobster-esque appearance cools off a little.
In the most serious cases, sun burn - whether from natural or artificial sources - can lead to skin cancer which is the fastest growing form of cancer and the biggest killer of girls in the 16-30 age group. If caught early en…

Forgive me Father for I have sinned! I have not blogged since June 2, 2008! Time flies when you're struggling to try and make a living in the current economic wasteland! It's not that I haven't thought about it, as I was stuffing my face with pork products... Really, I have thought about it a lot. And now, you say, why now? Well, I guess I can attribute my newfound enthusiasm and overcome inertia to good old day light savings. Spring is in the air, and let's face it, it's much harder to hide the…

Great movie...
Last night I went to see the new SATC movie! The girls and I had planned to get all dressed up and go on opening night, but that just didn't work out. So we ended up going on Sunday night. I was dressed to the nines in my shiny, silver, chic dress, diamond horseshoe necklace, and my Manolo Blahnik knockoffs!

I've fallen off the low-carb wagon a bit this week.
I was feeling a little bit disenchanted with Atkins this time round as the weight isn't dropping off like it did last time, so I've had quite a few carb 'sins' this week:
Sunday: I got talked into Kentucy fried chicken. I had about 5 pieces! (((Sigh!!!)))
Thursday: Pasta salad (and I finished up my children's unfinished plates too, so that probably counts for 60 g of carbs!)
Friday: I had 2 little roast potatoes with my dinner. Also I forgo…
